Week 1

Hermelindo Ruiz, guitar

Puerto Rico

Hermelindo is the recipient of the ‘Andrés Segovia- Ruiz Morales’ and the ‘Orden Angel Mislán’ Prizes. Additionally, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, Festival Áureo Herrero in Spain, Latin American Festival in Chicago, Festival ICPNA in Perú, Escuela Universitaria de Música in Uruguay, Orvis Auditorium in Hawaii, Saint Church Hall in New Zealand, University of Melbourne, among others. He holds degrees from prestigious Yale University and completed a doctoral degree at the University of Kentucky. Previously, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico.

Week 2

Sara Garcia, soprano

Puerto Rico

Young Artist, Sara Garcia is a graduate of the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico.  Currently pursuing her master’s degree at the Conservatorio de Educación Superior del Liceu in Barcelona, she has performed with Opera de Puerto Rico, Berlin Opera Academy and the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra.

Patricia Vasquez, mezzo soprano

Puerto Rico

Puerto Rican mezzo-soprano Patricia Vásquez made her professional operatic debut in 2009 playing the role of Mercedes in George Bizet´s Carmen with Ópera de Puerto Rico. A graduate of the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico, she has also performed for Pro-Arte Musical, Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, Ópera de Puerto Rico and the Symphony Orchestra of Guatemala.
